Private Label CD-R/DVD-R for Ministries

Frequently Asked Questions

When should our Ministry consider using pre-printed optical media from Diversified Systems?
If your ministry is currently using CD-R and DVD-R media to support ministry activities and functions, it is likely that you are a very good candidate for custom printed optical media from Diversified Systems.  Our ministry users have found that pre-printed CD-R and DVD-R from Diversified Systems is cost effective for small, medium and large volume applications.  The quality of print, ease of ordering, quick turn times, and competitive prices make pre-printed media a great alternative to the arduous and costly task of in-house labeling and printing.

What are some of the areas and applications where our ministry can use optical media?
Optical media can be used to share sermons or choral performances, record speakers at conferences, capture memories from Bible camps, youth ministries or retreats, provide directories to your congregation, or many other applications.

Will pre-printed media from Diversified Systems work with my duplication system?
Absolutely!  We only use top-of-the-line CD and DVD media so you won’t have any difficulties copying your messages onto your professionally printed discs.   Diversified purchases optical media directly from leading manufacturers including Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, TDK, Prodisc and MAM-A.   These suppliers are well known and respected for the high quality and consistency of their products.

What are the methods used by Diversified Systems for custom printing optical media?
Diversified Systems currently employs several different printing methods (silk-screen and digital) to ensure that all of our customers – regardless of the size of their order – can receive a professionally printed product at a competitive price.   Customer artwork is printed directly on the surface of the disc (not a paper label).  The resulting print is high resolution, waterproof, scratch resistant, and meets all industry standards for optical disc labeling.  You will not find a higher quality on the market.

What is the difference between silkscreen and digital printing?
Silkscreen and digital printing are the two most popular print options at Diversified systems.  Both processes are done using fully automated, state-of-the-art printing presses.  Digital printing is CMYK process printing that uses a heat transfer to adhere the image directly to the disc.  In contract, silkscreen printing is accomplished by pushing ink through a very fine mesh screen.  Digital printing is typically used for full-color printing on runs from 100 to 3,500 pieces; silkscreen printing is used for spot colors where PMS color matching is a concern, or on very large runs of CMYK printed discs.  After review of customer artwork, your customer support representative will offer recommendations on which method is best for your particular application.

Can you assist with my artwork set-up or design?
Yes we can!  Diversified Systems has a fully-trained art staff in house to answer your questions as needed.  Most of our clients provide us with print-ready artwork which we then preflight and proof.  However, if artwork design or type-setting services are needed, Diversified Systems can provide them.  Depending on the scope of work there may some additional charges.   Please speak with your customer support representative about your specific needs.

What programs does your art department work with?
Our art department works with most major graphics design programs for both PC and Macintosh.  We can accept and support files from Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark, and InDesign.

How do I get my completed artwork to you?
It’s easy.  Diversified Systems offers an FTP site directly from our website – www.dsgi.com.  Simply click on the UPLOAD FILES link in the upper right hand corner of any website page.   You will be asked for several important pieces of contact information as well as the file to be uploaded.  You will be redirected to a confirmation screen once the file is successfully uploaded.  Alternatively, you may email your artwork as an attachment or burn it to a CD-R and mail it to us.

How do place an order?  What do you need from me to begin my job?
Placing an order is simple – you just need to let your sales representative know you wish to move forward with your project!  To begin your job, your first step will be to provide Diversified Systems with artwork.  You’ll also need to provide your sales representative with your bill and shipping information, which can be done with a quick phone call or via email.

What quantity can I order my discs in?
Diversified Systems has a minimum order quantity of 100 pieces for any custom-printed purchase.  After that, you may order at any quantity you desire.  All print orders are subject to a 10% over/under and will be billed on the actual quantity of discs shipped.

How long does the process take?  What does the process entail?
The time that a project takes can vary; most first-time orders are completed within 8 to 10 working days of artwork submission.  After artwork is submitted, our art department will preflight and proof the artwork with you via PDF, which typically takes 1 to 2 working days.  Once artwork approval is received, it takes us about 4 to working days to print your job.  If you have included optional items such as duplication, packaging, printed inserts, or assembly, those typically take 2 to 3 working days.  Your order will ship out the day it is completed.

I would like to get packaging to go along with my discs.  What options are available to me?
Diversified Systems has a host of bulk and custom-printed packaging options available to our customers.  For bulk packaging, we can provide jewel cases, clam shells, DVD cases, sleeves, or mailers.  Diversified Systems can print inserts for jewel cases or DVD cases and can provide custom printed sleeve and mailers.  Ask your sales representative for more information.

How easy is it to reorder?  How long do reorders take?
Very easy!  If you are not making changes to your artwork, all you need to do is contact your sales representative and let them know you wish to reorder.  Your sales representative will confirm pricing with you, or provide you with new pricing if your quantities have changed.  Reorders without artwork changes will typically take 4 to 5 working days to process; reorders with changes to the artwork will typically take 7 to 8 working days.

Can you meet my deadlines?
In most cases, yes, absolutely!  The most important thing you can do to help us meet your deadline is to provide us with that date up front.  Our sales representatives have helped many customers who were under a time crunch and are experts at figuring out how to best meet your deadline without sacrificing quality.  You should note that, in some circumstances, rush fees may be applicable.  Check with your sales representative to see what your total costs will be.
