What is the C-Shell?
The C-Shell is a special case that can be used for packaging your optical media. It is made of durable polyvinyl material, is nearly unbreakable, and is lightweight. It is shaped similar to a clam shell, with a hinge on one side that opens and closes the case. C-Shell cases are available in a variety of colors.
What are the different types of jewel cases available?
The traditional jewel case is 10mm thick and consists of a case and separate tray. The tray is inserted into the case and holds the disc, and can come in black, white, and clear. An optional printed insert (tray card) may be placed beneath the tray; in addition, another printed insert of up to 32 pages may be inserted into the front of the case.
Along with the traditional jewel case, Diversified stocks the maxi-slim and super maxi-slim. The maxi-slim jewel case is 7mm thick and is a single piece that uses the hub on the backside of the case to attach and hold the disc. In this piece, a front insert can be included but there is no spot for a tray card. Likewise, the super maxi-slim, which is 5.2mm thick, is a single piece constructed with a hub on the backside of the case that holds the discs. A third maxi-slim is available at 3.8mm. All maxi-slims come in a variety of colors and are a good alternative to the standard jewel case when multi-paged booklets or inserts are not a requirement.
Diversified Systems also carries jewel cases that fit both the mini-disc CD-R and the business card CD-R. For more information on any of our packaging options, please contact your sales representative.

Can you print inserts and tray cards for jewel cases?
Diversified Systems can print all types of inserts for media packaging. We can do custom printing for any of the jewel cases or DVD cases we carry. Folders can be up to 8 panels; booklets can go to 32 pages. Quantities can range from 100 pieces to the tens of thousands. Printing is usually 4/1 or 4/4 for folders and booklets; tray cards are usually printed at 4/0. Contact your Diversified Systems representative for answers to any of your questions on custom printed folders and booklets for jewel cases.
What is a vinyl adhesive sleeve?
A vinyl adhesive sleeve is a great way to protect your disc from unauthorized use. A user can insert their finished disc easily into the sleeve, peel off the paper backing on the reverse side to expose the adhesive backing, and then attach the disc to the particular surface they desire. The sleeve has a tamper-proof seal that must be broken before a user can retrieve the disc. Applications for the vinyl sleeve include textbooks, manuals, magazines, and other printed material that requires an enclosed optical media disc.
Can you insert my discs into packaging and assemble all of the inserts?
Absolutely. Diversified Systems is happy to aid in all or part of the assembly of your job. We can insert discs, tray cards, and inserts as needed. Please speak with your Diversified Systems representative for more information.
